With Sankofa Lingua’s language courses, you have the choice between
different languages of the African continent. Learn quickly and easily with our online lessons in a group or in a 1-to-1 format with a teacher just for you.
How language learning works with Sankofa:
Learning languages with Sankofa is simple and uncomplicated. Below you can see how your language course works.

Group course
Individual lessons
1. select language and learning group
You tell us which language you would like to learn and choose your course group.
2. complete registration
After you have paid your course fee, you will receive a confirmation with initial instructions and information.
3. on-boarding
Approximately 2 weeks before the first lesson, we will send you all the learning materials and you will be given access to our course platform.
4th learning phase
Your regular lessons will take place over the coming weeks and you will immerse yourself in your chosen language. At the end of each lesson, you will receive an audio recording of what you have learned.
5. testing & certification
As your course draws to a close, we will start creating your personal certificate of participation. At the end of your course, you will take an exam, on the basis of which we will build your individual performance record.
6th degree
You have made it! Once you have completed all the lessons, you will receive your certificate of participation and proof of achievement from us. We will also let you know what to do next if you want to improve your language level.

After we have activated access to your teacher’s calendar, you select suitable dates together with us and decide how many lessons you would like to complete per week.

Before the first lesson, we will send you all the learning materials and give you access to our course platform.
5th learning phase
In the coming weeks, your regular lessons will take place and you will immerse yourself individually in the chosen language together with your teacher. You remain flexible and can increase your learning workload in individual weeks or select just a single lesson.
6. testing & certification
As your course draws to a close, we will start creating your personal certificate of participation. At the end of your course, you have the opportunity to take a voluntary exam to obtain your individual certificate of achievement.
7. conclusion
Once you have completed all the lessons, you will receive your certificate of participation from us and, on completion of an examination, a certificate of achievement. We will also let you know what to do next if you want to improve your language level.

Important information
For group courses, you have the option of taking the first lesson as a trial. If you decide not to take part in the course, you must notify us in writing or by telephone by the following day at the latest. Otherwise you will have to pay the full course fee.
If you find out before the start of the course that you are unable to attend, please contact our team immediately so that we can find a solution together. If you cancel less than 2 days before the start of the course, you must pay the full course fee.

What happens if I am unable to attend the course?
If for any reason you are unable to attend the course you have booked, please contact us as soon as possible to find a solution.
How are the teachers selected?
All teachers at Sankofa are native speakers who have been thoroughly checked by us in advance for professional suitability, pedagogical concept and adherence to Sankofa’s values. We have known the majority of our instructors for several years and they are established members of the Sankofa family.
What payment methods are offered?
We strive to offer the payment methods you feel most comfortable with. You can currently pay in the following ways:

Is it possible to pay in installments?
We do not offer payment in installments directly. Nevertheless, you may have the option of paying the course fee in monthly installments via Paypal. Please understand that we have no influence on the granting of installment payments by Paypal.
Is it possible to take a trial lesson?
You have the opportunity to take the first appointment as a trial appointment. If you decide not to continue with the course, please inform the administration no later than the following day, or on the same day in the case of intensive courses, otherwise the full course fee will be charged.
How can I check whether my previous knowledge is sufficient for an advanced course?
If you are unsure about your language level, you can contact us to clarify your language level together. We will soon be offering you an online placement test here.
