What does Sankofa Lingua offer for children and young people?

Individual learning pace

At Sankofa, we believe that everyone has their own learning pace and individual strengths. Our teachers adapt to your child’s progress.

Learning groups for all ages

Sankofa’s children’s and youth courses bring your child together with their peers so that the specific requirements of the age group can be addressed.

Playful learning

Learning should not be boring! In our courses, your child will learn their chosen language in a playful way and without pressure. This guarantees long-term motivation and success.

How your child learns African languages in an age-appropriate way

Learning languages with Sankofa is simple and uncomplicated. Below you can see how your child’s language course works.

 

1. select language and learning group

You tell us which language your child would like to learn and select the appropriate age group.

2. complete registration

After you have paid your course fee, you will receive a confirmation with initial instructions and information.

3. on-boarding

Approximately 2 weeks before the first lesson, we will send you all the learning materials and your child will be given access to our course platform.

4th learning phase

In the coming weeks your regular lessons will take place and your child will be immersed in the chosen language. After each lesson, you will receive an audio recording of what you have learned.

5. testing & certification

As your course draws to a close, we will start creating your personal certificate of participation. At the end of your course, you will take an exam, on the basis of which we will create an individual certificate of achievement, if desired.

6th degree

You made it! After your child has completed all the lessons, you will receive a certificate of participation and a certificate of achievement from us. We will also let you know what to do if your child wants to improve their language level.

Fair prices for children and young people

At Sankofa Lingua we want to ensure that all children and young people have the opportunity to learn an African language. We therefore try to keep the costs for our children’s and youth courses as low as possible.

We do not differentiate between children’s courses and courses for teenagers in our course fees. A standard, reduced price applies for all young age groups.

Important information

For group courses, you have the option of taking the first lesson as a trial. If you decide not to take part in the course, you must notify us in writing or by telephone by the following day at the latest. Otherwise you will have to pay the full course fee.

If you find out before the start of the course that you are unable to attend, please contact our team immediately so that we can find a solution together. If you cancel less than 2 days before the start of the course, you must pay the full course fee.

If for any reason you are unable to attend the course you have booked, please contact us as soon as possible to find a solution.

All teachers at Sankofa are native speakers who have been thoroughly checked by us in advance for professional suitability, pedagogical concept and adherence to Sankofa’s values. We have known the majority of our instructors for several years and they are established members of the Sankofa family.

We strive to offer the payment methods you feel most comfortable with. You can currently pay in the following ways:

  • Apple Pay

If you are missing a payment method, please contact us so that we can check whether we can set it up.

We do not offer payment in installments directly. Nevertheless, you may have the option of paying the course fee in monthly installments via Paypal. Please understand that we have no influence on the granting of installment payments by Paypal.

You have the opportunity to take the first appointment as a trial appointment. If you decide not to continue with the course, please inform the administration no later than the following day, or on the same day in the case of intensive courses, otherwise the full course fee will be charged.
